Damaiense replaces Atlético in Liga BPI due to episode of aggression

O Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation has decided that it will be Sport Futebol Damaiense, and not Atlético Clube de Portugal, rising to the top echelon of national women’s football in the next season of the League BPI.

On the basis of the decision are the incidents registered on the 15th of December, when the meeting between Associação Desportiva Pastéis da Bola and Atlético Clube de Portugal (who won 4-0) had to be interrupted on 75 minutes due to an episode of aggression.

The case was handed over to the Disciplinary Board, which chose to punish the Pat with the loss of a total of seven points: the three that were wrongly attributed to him as a result of this meeting, and another four due to what happened.

O Sports to the Minute had access to the judgment in question, which also includes a fine of 153 euros to be paid by each of the clubs, as well as a punishment of three suspension games a Jessica Fonseca, who was found guilty of kicking “an opponent player who was on the ground without causing her any serious injury”.

As a result, Atlético Clube de Portugal, which would be promoted to the Liga BPI as leader of the II Division G series (a measure motivated by the early closure of the competition due to the pandemic), Ended the time regular with 25 points, not 32, ‘falling’ to second place, behind the Damaiense, which added up to 28.

The President of Sport Futebol Damaiense will address this same issue today, at the club presidents conference, which is scheduled for 9:30 pm (mainland Portugal time).
