One day after showing the video of the ministerial meeting, which is part of the investigation that investigates the alleged interference of Jair Bolsonaro in the change of command of the Federal Police, the president himself said on Wednesday that, for him, the section referring to the investigation may be released.
“Everything that deals with the investigation can be released. For my part, it is released. There we deal with other matters, such as commercial and international relations, in addition to personal matters”, summarized the head of state at the exit of the Planalto Palace, in Brasília.
Sources that accompanied the display of the images evaluated that the content of the recording “Opens up the president’s concern about an eventual encirclement of the Federal Police to his children” and that Jair Bolsonaro justified the need to change the superintendent of the corporation in Rio de Janeiro to defend his own children, claiming that his family was being “persecuted”. The president appears in the video calling the PF’s Rio de Janeiro superintendency “Rio’s security”, according to reports.
The investigators considered the material “devastating” for the president. They understand that the recording fully confirms the accusations of former Minister of Justice and Public Security Sérgio Moro that attributes to the president an attempt to interfere in the corporation, which led to the opening of an investigation in the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
