The new coronavirus pandemic has left the whole world worried and rightly so. The virus has already infected more than 5.2 million people worldwide. But an important fact must be celebrated. According to a survey by the University of Johns Hopkins, in the United States, the number of people healed is already over 2 million.
According to the university’s balance sheet, of the 5,271,047 confirmed cases in the world, 2,087,336 people have already recovered. According to the last update carried out this Friday (22), in Brazil, among the 330,890 people who tested positive, 135,430 are considered cured and in Espírito Santo, 4,430 of the 9,520 infected people no longer have the disease.
For the World Health Organization (WHO), all patients who have no more symptoms and who have undergone two laboratory tests, at least one day apart, whose result is negative for covid-19, are considered cured. The Ministry of Health Brazil uses the WHO criteria to classify the status of patients with the new coronavirus.
In mild cases of the disease, the WHO estimates that the time between the onset of the infection and the recovery lasts up to 14 days. Researchers from several countries around the world are running out of time in the search for a vaccine. In the meantime, it is important for the population to be attentive and follow the guidelines of the health agencies that ask to avoid crowding, to leave the house wearing a mask and to clean their hands with alcohol gel or soap and water, constantly.
